John Wirtz has more than 10 years of financial experience in the construction industry. He began his career in 2003 as a staff accountant with Pulte Homes, a large-volume residential builder. Through a series of promotions, he was elevated to controller and spent five years managing all financial and accounting functions for the Colorado region.
After a brief stint with an IT consulting and managed services company, John joined BluSky as the controller in January 2012. He was elevated to Chief Financial Officer in 2014. He supports the Senior Management team in implementing procedures that create continuous business improvements and ensures the accurate documentation of those processes.
John is a proven financial leader focused on accountability and results. He works diligently to automate as many recurring tasks and reports as possible. John holds both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his wife, Christy, and their five children. He also volunteers with the high school youth ministry at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, with which he has been involved since 2005.
