A Day of Giving

Thanksgiving is a day traditionally set aside for giving thanks, eating turkey with family, and maybe falling asleep in front of a football game. But in 2018 on the day before Thanksgiving, BluSky Restoration Contractors employees will hold a Day of Giving.

BluSky CEO Kent Stemper explained the concept in announcing the day to employees.

“I was reflecting on some things lately – how grateful I am to be with BluSky, how grateful I am for our culture and our employees. All of this led me to the place where you want to give back. So here’s what I came up with for this year: we’re going to have a Day of Giving, and we’re going to target the day before Thanksgiving, which is Wednesday, November 21. All BluSky offices will be shut down that day, and we’ll have each office decide on a charity to assist that day.

“In the past, different groups have helped soup kitchens, homeless shelters, Habitat for Humanity, and other causes. The key is for all of us to take the day off work, and instead, spend our time giving back to the communities. We’ve been very blessed, and we’re fortunate to be able to do this.”

The Day of Service will be a time for our employees to participate as a team and build great memories, while benefiting the communities where we live and work.  Most BluSky offices have already chosen the charities they will help, and employees are signing on to volunteer that day.

We’ll have more details to share soon, and you’re liable to see a few pictures from the big day on BluSky’s social media profiles. Stay tuned!

Rest assured BluSky on-call and emergency response personnel will still be on standby, ready to respond as usual in the event of pressing needs from our clients.
