BluSky Restoration Contractors Responds to Growth with Promotion
Mike Erekson named chief operating officer
CENTENNIAL, COLORADO, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 — Centennial-based BluSky Restoration Contractors, LLC announced Friday that it has promoted Mike Erekson, vice president of operations, to chief operating officer at BluSky. Current chief operating officer, Drew Bisping, moves into a newly created role as chief corporate development and strategy officer.
“This is an important promotion for Mike and a reward for outstanding leadership of the operations function of the firm since his arrival three years ago,” says Kent Stemper, BluSky CEO. “Mike is a tremendously talented and seasoned leader with a proven track record of delivering results. His extensive construction experience and strong background in operational discipline make him uniquely qualified to oversee BluSky’s day-to-day operations. He will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to help drive operational excellence throughout the company,” says Stemper.
“Mike also spearheaded our 2019 customer service initiative, the results of which have been remarkably successful. He’s a problem-solver who excels at team building, communication, operational excellence and financial management,” Stemper added.
In his new role, Erekson will oversee operations across all business units such as emergency restoration, environmental, construction, roofing and safety, while playing an active role in several key initiatives such as operational excellence, comprehensive risk management, customer service and safety.
Over his 20-year career, Erekson regularly managed projects exceeding $100 million and holds extensive state and local municipality contractor licenses and certifications. Over his tenure in construction, Erekson has hands-on experience as a field engineer, project manager, senior project manager, senior construction manager, vice president of construction and national vice president of operations.
Erekson holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Utah State University.
