Cindy Farmer to Emcee 2015 Chips for Children
Popular FOX8 morning news anchor Cindy Farmer has signed on as emcee for the second annual Chips for Children casino night to be held on September 25. The fundraising event supporting the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro will take place at the Empire Room in downtown Greensboro.
Cindy began her career at WSLS-TV in Roanoke, Virginia before moving to Greensboro in 1990 to work at WFMY-TV. After the birth of her first child, Cindy made a career choice to join the FOX8 Morning News. Earlier this year she celebrated 18 years with FOX 8 News.
She is very involved in the community, volunteering with numerous organizations including the Peaks to Piedmont Girl Scout Council, Southeast Middle and High Schools in Guilford County, and the NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She says she lives by the words “accentuate the positive” and tries to capture that every day in her FOX8 Morning and Noon newscasts as well as each week in her “What’s Right with Our Schools” stories.
As your Chips for Children emcee, Cindy will bring her contagious enthusiasm and energy to an action-packed evening of games, auctions, food, and prizes as we raise funds for a truly worthy organization.
We’re thrilled to have Cindy on board as we work together to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro!
